Volunteering is vital to everything we do at Metro Community Hub. Our volunteers assist in many different roles on different programs.
On the job training is provided with staff supervision. Our volunteer insurance covers people from 18 to 90. Over 400 hours on average is contributed to member support each month. Many of our volunteers have been actively involved in providing service for over 20 years. We also welcome short term volunteers who are looking for experience or to fill in time.
Those who can, do. Those who can do more…..volunteer.
- Broadband for Seniors Tutors: volunteers work with people on on one to assist them learn to use a computer, tablet, phone or other devices. Bookings essential.
- Hub Day Assistant: join us on our in center day where we provide members with morning tea and lunch as well as entertainment. Volunteers assist with preparing and serving morning tea and lunch as well as interacting with members and assisting as required. (Please note this is not suitable for students studying Certificate III/IV in Aged Care and wanting a placement).
- Outings Assistant: Every Monday we take a group of up to 20 clients on a day trip to either the Sunshine or Gold Coasts. This is a full day for volunteers, 9.00 am - 4.00 pm. Due to the nature of the outing we are not able to come back early for appointments or committments (such as picking up children).

What Our Members Say
I have been attending the Thursday club for many years and have seen people come and go. I have enjoyed my time over the years and met many people I would not normally have met. The club has been really good for me and I am glad I’m involved
